Electrical Maintenance Engineer



Dayshift position

Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm (40 hours)

My client is a leading manufacturing company, Based in Stockton-On-Tees, Cleveland. They now have a requirement for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Reporting to the Engineering Manager, You will be responsible for ensuring maximum plant availability via planned maintenance activities and rapid response to breakdowns.

- Maintenance and repair of all machinery and associated services within a continuous process, manufacturing environment.

- Replacement of components; motors, sensors, drives, pumps etc.

- PLC fault finding and interrogation.

- Project work - Continuous Improvement, reliability projects, and root cause analysis, TPM etc.

- Install and or maintain all electrical & electro-mechanical plant or machinery in line with company requirements,

- Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system to ensure that the plant & machinery is operating at optimum efficiency in line with required production targets.

- Fault find and repair any electrical or electro-mechanical related problems on the plant or equipment,

- Fault Finding on PLC driven equipment.

- Proven knowledge of PLC's, Controls and Scada.

- Complete all relevant paperwork associated with the task being performed in a timely and accurate manner,

- Report any problems regarding equipment and machinery immediately to the Production Director.

- Ensure that you are aware of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and that you adhere to them always,

- Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiency,

- Co-operate with supervision and fellow employees,

- Complete Maintenance Work orders.

- Liaise with sub-contractors.

- Work split; 35% Desk work and 65% Shop floor.

- Able to work autonomously & efficiently,

- Undertake PPM's (Preventative maintenance tasks), Breakdown repairs, New upgrades and machine installations.

Applicable Experience

- The ideal candidate might potentially come from a background who has knowledge and experience of working within a wide sheet production environment, this could include a paper mill, polythene, textiles, plastic sheeting or tarpaulin, however, not essential.

- Ideally you will hold 17th Edition IEE wiring regulations,

- Ability to understand production/manufacturing process and introduce new improvements to plant efficiency.

- Knowledge and experience of fault finding and repairs to a wide range of industrial/manufacturing systems and associated machinery.

- Knowledge of PLC logic (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron).

- Conversant with VSD, both AC/DC & Servo systems,

- Able to read electrical schematic drawings,

- Analytical and problem-solving skills,

- Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering discipline.


- £43,000 salary

- 25 days holidays plus 8 bank holidays.

- Dayshift hours, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm (40 hours)
