Elevation Recruitment Group are currently seeking a process and efficiency driven Credit Control Team Leader for a Manufacturing organisation in Wetherby. The Credit Team Leader will provide the leadership and direction to maximise debtor performance, whilst minimising bad debt losses. They will also provide support to the Sales function to help maximise sales growth and profitability. You will play a leading role in the long term development of the department in a fast-paced environment, working with the wider Senior Management team to achieve timely resolution to overdue debt issues, and leading and implementing strategic initiatives in order to drive the business forward and ensure continuous improvement.

The role will include the following duties:-

-Lead, support and inspire a small team to drive debt collection and reduce levels of overdue debt
-Establish agreed team targets and KPI's and monitor progress against these objectives
-Develop/ improve customer collection techniques with team individuals
-Support team development and process improvement
-Manage the credit note process, ensuring all credits are correct, appropriate and properly authorised in accordance with Company policy
-Review credit risk and liaise with external insurer to set appropriate credit limits and reduce overall Company risk
-Work with external insurers to manage the Company Credit Insurance Policy, including renewal negotiations
-Manage debt recoveries where appropriate through legal action collection processes
-Manage debt recovery from bad debt accounts through Credit Insurance Policy claims
-Manage the sales ledger customer retentions positions, ensuring collections are made as due
-Work closely with sales functions with debt reviews and queries to support customer account debt discussions
-Support Credit and Sales team collections through customer visits as required
-Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure the sales ledger systems reflect agreed commercial terms re payment dates, retentions, rebates credits etc
-Work with the Process Improvement team and other departments across the business to develop, enhance and implement order to cash processes, which will ease debt collections

To be successful for this role the candidate must demonstrate the following skills and experiences:-

-Lead, support and inspire a small team to drive debt collection and reduce levels of overdue debt
-Have significant credit management experience in positions of increasing responsibility, including leadership positions
-A proven track record of success in prior credit management roles
-Have a thorough understanding of economic and accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data, able to inform commercial and strategic decision making with logic and consistency
-A sound business acumen with a strong understanding of the business and wider economic environment
-Able to lead and manage change, ideally with demonstrable project management skills and experience
-Excellent people management skills, able to identify, lead, delegate, develop, coach and motivate high calibre individuals
