The opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with relevant experience to join this specialist hospital in Cheshire on its 30 bedded, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. The service provides care to male and female adults with a range of acute, severe illness which cannot be managed in an open setting. You will be experienced in dealing with patients who are in a severe phase of illness and be confident in managing high levels of disturbance.

As Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) you will be competent across a range of clinical skills and have a clear understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983. The multidisciplinary team work together to deliver care in accordance with the patient's changing needs as they move towards recovery which may include stepping up or down the acuity of their treatment. You will follow NMC guidelines to ensure that all care plans are completed and maintained collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse - RMN:
  • Providing and developing person centred care
  • Educating and supporting healthcare and junior staff members
  • Working closely with stakeholders and commissioning bodies to effect care pathways
  • Maintaining confidentiality, security and accuracy of patient records and data
  • Ensuring the care, security and maintenance of equipment, drugs and other consumables
  • Ensuring good quality documentation in line with statutory requirements
  • Comply with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines
  • Ensure medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered
  • Supervise and monitor standards of care and take appropriate action to improve standards when required

Registered Nurse qualified with relevant experience (RMN) must have:
  • Registered Nurse qualified (RMN)
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • Up to date clinical experience
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and latest nursing practices
  • Current and valid registration with the NMC and a legal right to work in the UK
