The Big Manager is a newly created role based in Harwell office reporting to the UK Sales Director of a Global Business powered by local geographical presence throughout Europe, Asia and the USA.

They are looking for someone who is an experienced Bid Manager with a technical background who has had experience managing a team. There will be 3 direct reports, which comprises of two sales support and a Marketing Co-ordinator and UK and European travel will be a requirement of this role to attend meetings/training/events that take place.

Definition & Purpose of the Role

To prepare, manage and deliver bids in response to requests for proposals and ensure that company proposals are fully executed from the start to the end of the process.

Key Responsibilities

* Responding to tender invitations.

* Producing and delivering high quality presentations for marketing, prequalification and tender purposes.

* Manage tender submissions.

* Represent the company at tender meetings with clients and/or statutory bodies.

* Write and manage the production of tender submissions (quality and technical question responses).

* Obtain feedback on tender submissions and implement improvements.

* Assist with public relations, advertising, corporate identity, special events and market research activities.

Qualifications and Experience

* Proven track record managing high profile tenders.

* Technical background

* Negotiation skills

* Bid writing experience

* Knowledge of conditions of contracts

* Computer literate

* Keen attention to detail

Based in Harwell, hours are 8.00am - 5.00pm with a half day on Fridays, 25 days holiday, healthcare, sick pay, death in service, critical illness, salary offered if £30 - £35k.
