Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Specialists are looking for a Material Controller to work for one of the most successful freight operators in the world. The opportunity to become an integral part of a dedicated supply chain team that has a direct impact on the success of the company.

The Candidate

The Ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

* A commitment to safe working practices

* Good understanding of MRP processes

* Excellent planning and organisational skills

* Effective communication skills

* Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software packages

* Knowledge of budgets and the ability to work within them

* Knowledge of materials control, purchase order processing and logistics

Roles And Responsibilities

* Executing supplier performance, inventory and cost down plans to achieve optimum supply chain performance, ensuring product availability to support customer service to both external and internal customers.

* You will be required to Implement best practice methods and identify improvement areas.

* Maintain and develop appropriate supplier relationships alongside the purchasing and quality teams, particularly with nominated partnership suppliers.

* Manage Material Shortage Reports.

* Liaise with production, warehouse & project buyers regarding material requirements

Essential Criteria

* At least 2 year's experience in a similar role

* Highly motivated with an ability to respond rationally to issues that inevitably will arise

* Familiar with SAP

* Experience in improving process and increasing manufacturing output

* Good understanding of MRP processes

* Knowledge of materials control, purchase order processing and logistics
