Job Summary:

Link3 Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant and Early Years tutor to deliver both classroom and work-based Teaching Assistant and Early Years programmes at Level 1, 2 and 3 in Nottingham for a private training provider.

It is important you have extensive occupational experience in the early years and primary sector, preferably at a senior level.

The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of:
  • Planning and delivering Level 1, 2 and 3 Early Years and Teaching Assistant programmes
  • Assessing learners for occupational competency in their work setting
  • Experience of delivering both classroom and work-based qualifications
  • Planning and delivering underpinning knowledge and skills in a classroom setting
  • Knowledge and experience of using an online learning platform
  • Standardisation practices to promote quality teaching and learning
  • Practice and promote the importance of workplace principles such as Health & Safety, Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding

The ideal candidates will be confident communicators with excellent people skills to support our diverse learners. You will be expected to deliver our classroom-based Childcare Academy programme in addition to our work based provision.

The role is a full-time position either salaried or equivalent freelance rate depending on your experience and qualifications.

Essential:
  • Level 3+ occupational qualification in Early Years or Teaching Assistant or QTS.
  • Previous or current experience working as a practitioner in an Early Years setting e.g. nurseries, childminding, pre-schools etc. or as a Teaching Assistant or as a qualified Teacher
  • Excellent interpersonal people skills with the ability to motivate, support and develop others
  • Good working knowledge of the EYFS
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, the ability to manage your own diary and workload
  • Experience in planning and delivering training courses or workshops
  • Experience using an e-portfolio (online assessment tool) system
  • Competent IT (Microsoft suite)
  • Driving licence and own car and with 1-hour max travel distance from your core portfolio of learners particular academy classroom locations

Desirable ( a selection of )
  • CAVA/TAQA/A1 Assessor Award (or equivalent)
  • Experience of assessing in Early Years settings such as childminding, nurseries, pre-schools etc. or in primary schools
  • Delivery of functional skills Maths, English and ICT
  • IQA/IV award
  • Childminding experience
  • Relevant adult/FE teaching qualification i.e. Diploma in Education & Training (previously DTLLS or PTLLS) or equivalent
  • Experience of assessing Early Years or SSTL
  • L5 Occupational qualification e.g. Early Years Professional Status
  • Early Years degree
  • QTS
