We're looking for a talented individual to join the UK Credit team based in Bristol to develop and champion our model risk measurement capability for Bank of Ireland UK (BOI UK), covering Retail and Commercial assets. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to progress their career in model risk.You will work with colleagues across multiple teams including the UK Business, Prudential Risk, Finance and Group Decision Science, ensuring that all models (decision and behavioural models/IFRS9 Models/Loan Loss Forecasting and Credit Capital Models) are developed and deployed in a manner that is compliant with Group Standards and fit for purpose in supporting BOI UK.The role offers a flexible working environment with the option to work remote from the Bristol office on occasion.Key Accountabilities:Managing a small team of technical specialists in overseeing the development and deployment of credit models;Ensuring that the model owners within the UK are provided with appropriate oversight and information for all credit model development, deployment and monitoring;Agree development and implementation plans with outsource providers in Group;Participate in Group level steering Committees and Project fora, representing the UK's interests garnered from multiple stakeholders across Retail and Commercial;Ensure that model constructs, including inputs and assumptions are appropriate for UK circumstances, and advancing an environment which focuses on continuous improvement and quality outcomes;Lead testing exercises throughout the model development process to ensure that construction is appropriately meeting UK requirements;Lead the User Acceptance Testing processes, providing constructive feedback and challenge as necessary before recommending formal approval to the Head of Credit Risk;Embedding the annual credit model testing for the UK;Essential Skills & ExperienceExperienced in Retail (secured and unsecured) and Commercial credit risk management;Provisioning under IFRS9;Capital management and the supporting frameworks including Standardised and IRB;Understanding of Credit Risk models;Use of technologies such as SAS to carry out analysis and forecasting;Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;Report writing skillsEducational RequirementsMinimum 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent;Mathematical related degree would be desirableWhere Agency assistance is required Bank of Ireland Recruitment Team will engage directly with suppliers.
