We partner with Risk, Regulation, Compliance, Group Audit and others to provide a proactive integrated risk management approach.We work closely with managers to coordinate activities across business lines so we avoid violations of laws. We make sure the Bank has up-to-date information on regulatory and legal changes and continues to be seen as a trusted, respected market participant. Job Title: Legal Services Associate (Global Prime Finance) Corporate Title: Associate Division: Legal Location: Birmingham Overview: You will work within a team that is responsible for Global Prime Finance (GPF) documentation. This includes working on Prime Brokerage Agreements, International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) Master Agreements, Global Master Securities Lending Agreements, Listed Futures and Options Agreements and Master Netting Agreements. Key Responsibilities: Documenting negotiation within the GPF Legal team, reporting to the Head of Global Prime Finance in Birmingham Drafting and negotiating complex master documentation including prime brokerage agreements, ISDA Master Agreements, master confirmations, listed futures and options agreements and related prime brokerage documentation Undertaking due diligence on counterparties and assessing whether master agreements are eligible for regulatory netting Working collaboratively as part of a team of negotiators in Birmingham Taking responsibility for the achievement of agreed individual targets Drafting contractual provisions as and when required by your clients Having responsibility for progressing matters, working with multiple stakeholders to resolve issues and progressing matters to a conclusion Skills and Qualifications: Should be qualified solicitor (or international equivalent) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent time and workflow management skills A flexible and hardworking approach with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail The ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment The ability to identify issues and develop successful solutions Ideally some previous experience in exposure to senior management or clients The ability to read complex legal documentation Ideally previous experience of negotiating English law governed finance documentation which may include some of the above mentioned documents but is beneficial Previous experience at a law firm, financial services organisation, hedge fund or asset management company would be advantageous Diversity, inclusion and mutual respect are essential elements of who we are.
