SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN RESPIRATORY MEDICINE

This post supports the further development of the Respiratory Medicine Service. The post is Permenant and advertised at 10 Programmed Activities although applicants wishing to work part time are encouraged to apply.

This post offers experience in a broad range of respiratory medicine including outpatient management of chronic respiratory conditions, multidisciplinary management of lung cancer, assessment for oxygen therapy, TB service and supervising respiratory exercise testing etc.

BHNFT's ethos is to encourage team working and innovation and is an exciting time to be working for our Trust. Currently there are 8 transformation programmes in progress including COPD pathway development. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to development of clinical services and achieving gold standards.

This post holder will have exposure to Endobronchial Ultrasound - EBUS/Miniprobe EBUS, Thoracoscopy, Chest Ultrasound, VO2 Max and Asthma Diagnostic services like Manitol Inhalation test etc. The department also has a Narrow Band Image Bronchoscopy facility as well.

Applicants will need to have a broad experience of general internal medicine as well as at least two years of structured training in Respiratory and general Medicine in UK or overseas.

The Directorate has an active education programme and CPD including participation of the regional SpR training sessions will be actively encouraged.

Enhanced Check: £44.00 + administration cost of £3.69 = £14.69 deduction from 1st months salary, £11.00 deduction from salary over following 3 months.
