Applications are invited for a locum appointment for service (LAS) ST3+ to join our well-established Medical team based at Basildon Hospital on a fixed term basis until August 2020.

Candidates must be able to start 1st August 2019

The post is based in Medicine and rotates through Cardiology, Acute Medicine and Respiratory with a commitment to the Medicine Division and the Acute General Medicine rota throughout.

There is a full range of acute services, including a busy Accident & Emergency Unit, Acute Medical Unit, Surgical Assessment Unit, General Medicine, Medicine for Older People, Acute stroke unit, Acute respiratory unit, General Surgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Interventional Radiology, Coronary Care and Cardiac Services, Endoscopy, an Intensive Care Unit and Chronic Renal Units. The Essex Cardio-thoracic Centre providing tertiary cardio-thoracic services for Essex and beyond is located on-site.

The hospital has an active Postgraduate Medical Education Centre with Helicon-accredited library facilities and a well-established teaching programme. Previous trainees in medicine have had an excellent success rate at the Royal College of Physicians membership examination.

The hospital is accessible by public transport and close to major road and rail links for easy access to London.
