The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for enthusiastic Radiologists to join a team of Consultant Radiologists at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn to join us. We are a friendly and cohesive department with a range of specialist interests, committed to working together to the benefit of the patients and department, with very short turnaround times and short waiting times. We are an innovative group of Consultants always looking to expand and develop services.

You will be expected to undertake general radiology duties but we welcome and encourage the development of specialist interests.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust is a 488 bed hospital which offers a chance to live and work in a beautiful region with its own distinctive mix of urban, rural and coastal landscapes, all within easy reach of Norwich, Cambridge, London and the Midlands. We serve an expanding population of around 220,000, which increases substantially during the summer through the popularity of the surrounding countryside and beaches for leisure and holidays. We are a welcoming and friendly hospital that is devoted to our vibrant diverse community. We know where we are going, and want inspirational, compassionate and caring individuals to join us on this journey. The radiology department currently performs approximately 150,000 investigations a year, including the reporting of plain films for the North Cambridgeshire Hospital in Wisbech and James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth. The department is one of only a few departments in the UK accredited under the national UKAS accreditation scheme. We provide outreach Ultrasound services in both Wisbech and Swaffham. Reporting of CT examinations out-of-hours is outsourced to Radiology Reporting On-Line.

We have 2 Registrars from the Norwich Radiology Academy and teach medical students both from Norwich and Cambridge.

We have a well equipped department with 2 Philips 64 slice CT scanners, 3 new Hitachi Ultrasound rooms, 1 Philips DR room, and 3 carestream DR rooms. We also have a Toshiba interventional / screening suite, a GE Gamma camera and 2 GE 450 and 360 MRI scanners. We provide screening and symptomatic Breast imaging services to our local population, within a new purpose built breast unit which opened April 2016. We will be replacing the 2 CT scanners in Spring 2017 and have procured a new PACS system which will be installed 2018.
