Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an innovative and dynamic place to work. Our values - safe, caring, excellent - are at the core of everything we do and are the basis for our interactions with patients and each other.

The Trust is rated 'good' by the Care Quality Commission who described our services as effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Basildon Hospital was the first in the country to be rated as 'outstanding' for maternity care and our ambition is to become 'outstanding' in as many services as possible over the coming months and years.

We offer an extensive range of acute healthcare services at Basildon University Hospital, Orsett Hospital and the St Andrew's Centre in Billericay. We also provide specialist cardiothoracic services for the whole of Essex and further afield at The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, which has a reputation for leading developments in cardiac surgery and cardiology procedures.

We work collaboratively with our NHS partners in mid and south Essex to ensure that local people have access to the best possible healthcare services.

We are part of UCLPartners, an academic health and science partnership with over 40 members who together form one of the world's leading centres of medical innovation and education. We offer a professional environment where all staff have excellent education, coaching, mentoring, training and development opportunities.

We are looking for talented individuals who are committed to working as part of our healthcare team delivering an excellent, caring service to patients.

Take a look our Trust values video on our website and see if you have what it takes to be one of the team!

We are looking for a Specialty Doctor in Radiology to join our team. Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Radiology Department itself is about to undergo a major transformation and refurbishment programme in 2018.

A £2.1 million investment will enable a patient centered imaging pathway to improve flow through the department.

Cold image reporting is being separated from image acquisition to improve the reporting environment. The old film library has been developed into a dedicated 12 workstation cold reporting hub, an adjacent suite of consultant reporting offices with a further 16 workstations, and a dedicated seminar room for training and meetings.

The relinquished space in the main department will allow a redesign of the inpatient and outpatient flows and waiting areas, and the installation of a six bedded interventional radiology day case recovery unit, with single sex accommodation and facilities.

Hot reporting and the duty diagnostic and interventional radiologists will be located in the main department.

We are looking for a doctor who has full GMC registration or evidence of eligibility for full GMC registration, and must be able to evidence appropriate training in Imaging.

We are keen to recruit doctors who can demonstrate that they are passionate about patient care and safety, show an understanding and awareness of governance with a desire to improve patient experience.
