Specialty Doctor Obstetrics and Gynaecology

We are looking for 4 Speciality Doctors to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Team of the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board located in South-East Wales. All posts are part of the service's transformation ahead of the opening of a new Specialist and Critical Care Centre. The completion of the new Specialist and Critical Care Centre named The Grange University Hospital in early 2021, will see the centralisation of all Obstetric and emergency Gynaecology services at the Grange University Hospital with local general hospitals providing a range of non-urgent inpatient and outpatient services. All posts will initially be located at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny prior to service centralisation at the new Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran, with a proportion of day-time activity taking place at other satellite sites .

Aligned with the opening of the new Grange University Hospital, our Clinical Futures programme means that there has never been a more exciting time to join our Obstetrics and Gynaecology teams as we pioneer new ways of delivering services including the opening of a new Ambulatory Care Unit along with planned increases to laparoscopic procedures. You too could be a part of our plans to deliver these new and innovative services.

If successful, you will become part of a team of Consultants, Associate Specialists and Speciality Doctors, with the team set to expand further still over the next two years in preparation for service centralisation. The team you will be working with includes a range of specialised practitioners including urogynaecologists, laparoscopic surgeons and specialists in foetal and maternal medicine.

Free parking is available across all Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Sites.

This position involves Regulated Activity with adults as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer:

Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.
