Role: MySQL Database Administrator

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

The client:

My client are a rapidly expanding IT software house, who've grown from 90-150 staff in the last 12 months. Their innovative software helps companies streamline their back office finances, making processes more manageable and providing ways to save money. With their significant growth and heavy investment, they're now looking to invest in their IT team to ensure they have the right infrastructure in place to help with their growth.

The MySQL DBA role:

The MySQL DBA will work in the development team, being responsible for designing and enhancing complex data stores and back office workflow systems. We're looking for a specialist administrator with MySQL administration skills, with ideally 3+ years' experience. This is not essential, however all candidates must have a strong background in database administration who has worked on MySQL. The successful MySQL DBA will have a solid background in data storage techniques; database design and performance tuning. You'll need to be teachable and able to apply new technology languages and development tools.

Essential skills for MySQL DBA: MySQL, MySQL Database Administration, Troubleshooting, Performance Tuning & High Availability

Desirable: PHP Node.js Ruby .Net or similar programming language, AWS RDS, Neo4J or similar, graduate qualification in software engineering.

Advantageous: ColdFusion
