An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue-chip IT company, is currently seeking Senior Financial EMEA Controller based at their Leading Software customer site in Bracknell. This is a full-time, temporary roles for up to 6 months. Monday to Friday 9am-6pm, 40 hours a week to start ASAP.

They specialise in managing predominantly mature infrastructure software assets which have been delivering value to significant numbers of customers over long periods of time.

Job Description

Lead the organization responsible for management of Controllership deliverables within the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region, focusing on local legal reporting activities:
  • Maintain oversight and control on entity level balance sheet and profit and loss
  • Overview on Statutory Financial statements preparation in the EMEA region,
  • Review local legal reporting preparation such as National Statistics Forms, VAT declarations, INTRASTAT etc.
  • Tax activities
  • Provide guidance on Entity level forecast
  • PTE and Tax provision forecast,
  • Coordination of audit work in the team and direct cooperation with auditors
  • Experience in managing the Internal financial controls, interpreting the accounting policies & procedures in turn to facilitate internal financial control.
  • Experience in managing SoX (Sarbanes Oxley Act) Controls and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Support Controllership strategy and goals, and take active part in implementing it

- Maintain ownership for all work of the Controllership team and deliver consistent results

- Proactively partner with the EMEA Controllership and Tax staff

- Drive engagement with key partners to maintain regular communication and continuously improve processes and controls

- Increase efficiencies by standardizing and continually improving related processes, controls, and reports.

General Responsibilities

- Manage a large organization consisting of +12direct reports and provide oversight to the team in support of Controllership teams.

- Hire and retain talent; build high-performing and knowledgeable workforce

- Responsible for team planning, hiring, setting/monitoring annual performance plans, coaching, career development, and ensuring the proper processes and tools are in place to support such work

- Improve and maintain high-performance team environment and skill level through engagement, training/documentation, and providing leadership and development opportunities

- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of Controllership processes execution

- Consult with Controllers to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope (e.g., short and long-term business planning, balancing risk, etc.)

- Proactively drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the team and work

- Actively review, analyze, and manage the key controls within the domain of responsibility to ensure compliance with legal and accounting requirements (e.g., Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Standards of Business Conduct (SBC), and Accounting Financial Manual (AFM), Local Country legislation)

- Provide leadership during implementation of Controllership wide programs and processes


- Chartered Accountant with 15 years post qualification experience in good US based MNC/large reputed Indian business houses. Ability to work in the ever-changing world of technology led companies

- Professional accounting certifications would be additional asset

- Proven results in a MGR1 or MGR2 or another leadership position

- Demonstrated track record in successful financial management

- Ability to manage a fast moving, market-orientated and dynamic work environment

- International experience is an advantage

- Excellent people management skills, including managing across several countries

- Strong process improvement and change-management skills required

- Demonstrated leadership through others and coaching of a large team

- Strong business and finance acumen,

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to develop and maintain professional relationships

- Self-motivated, independent, with excellent planning, multi-tasking and prioritization skills

- Strong ethics and transparency in dealings with team and all stakeholders
