Job Description

Altus Partners have partnered with a Leading Alternative Investments Firm that is looking to bring on a Senior Fund Controller to manage the team and oversee the build out of a new area of the business. The Fund Controller will be working with the Head of the Business Area to implement the new function. This position involves managing a large team, overseeing the fund accounting and performance analysis for the newly established business area.

The Requirements

The role will have responsibility for the review and oversight of external fund administrators, the provision of best in class investor reporting, and significant interaction with the deal sourcing, execution and investment teams. The role will be the main point of contact for all External and Stakeholder

Main Responsibilities to include:
  • Assist with overseeing the administrators reporting on the funds on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Work closely with the administrators to ensure financial reporting is accurate and timely and reflects all relevant insight from the wider team
  • Oversee the consolidation of reporting from all entities
  • Assist in the development of processes / procedures around external investor queries and internal investor relations demands;
  • Understand and report on the working capital position of the funds and assist with forecasting requirements
  • Oversee the annual financial statement production across funds (in accordance with IFRS) and manage the audit process
  • Review and preparation of all investor financial and ad hoc reporting, fund analysis and deal with regulatory reporting
  • Oversee the quarterly fund performance reporting to investors, demonstrating an understanding of the key drivers behind performance and strategy
  • Understand the complexity of the fund structures in order to ensure the fund flows reflect the tax planning in the structure
  • Formally document technical matters and supporting judgements in relation to complex accounting issues, including broader fund matters which impact the fund's financial records

  • Degree qualified
  • ACCA / ACA ( Or equivalent) Qualified Accountant with 6 - 8 + PQE
  • Private Debt / Real Estate / Private Equity / Infrastructure Funds background
  • Excellent technical accounting skills combined with good attention to detail
  • Good understanding of financial approaches, tools and techniques
  • Excellent communicator
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines.
