DESCRIPTION:

Based in Bradford, our client is a busy Day Nursery that provides Award Winning Childcare.

Due to continued success the company is seeking to recruit a Nursery Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the experienced team at the newly acquired Nursery.

The business is looking for a Nursery Manager who is nurturing, can inspire and have fun to join the team on a permanent, full time basis. The successful candidate will answer directly to the Area Manager.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As a Nursery Manager you will be fully responsible for the operational management of this 48 place setting which you will manage, and as such you will be a dynamic leader who can retain, develop and maximise the talent and experience of your team.
  • You will possess the ability to inspirationally lead the team towards attaining outstanding care and education.
  • Applicants should be experienced in managing the HR functions of the Nursery setting, from recruitment and induction, through to ongoing leadership and management including supervision, training, development and performance management.
  • Key to the role will be the ability and track record in managing a Nursery business, ensuring that the setting is effectively marketed and promoted to attract clients to ensure continuous occupancy growth.
  • Fully responsible for the Nursery's budgets, you will have the experience and skill set to manage these to maintain profitability and ensure business growth.

AIMS
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide high standards of care and education.
  • Support all Nursery staff in their roles.
  • Acquire and maintain positive working partnerships with staff, parents and carers.
  • Sustain targets for revenue and costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Not limited to):
  • Successfully market and increase occupancy.
  • Responsible for staff rota's, general paper work and responding to parent emails.
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff.
  • Promote a high standard of quality within the nursery, including practice, environment and resources to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Responsible for staff observations and supervisions.
  • Ensure appropriate planning and assessment is in place and is accurately maintained by all staff.
  • Provide leadership and support to all staff to enable them to establish and maintain professional positive working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers.
  • Deploy staff effectively to ensure the required standards are maintained.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the company's key person system throughout the nursery.
  • Ensure that all children are kept safe and that staff are confident to follow safeguarding procedures.
  • Implement and support others in delivering the EYFS in line with current practice and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with relevant outside agencies.
  • Create and maintain a culture of self-evaluation and reflective practice throughout the nursery.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • NNEB, CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 Minimum qualification, Level 6 or above preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of OFSTED Grade Descriptors general standards and up and coming changes.
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and understanding of Learning Theories and alternative philosophies.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Strong people management and interpersonal skills.
  • 2 Years' previous relevant Nursery Management experience.
  • Excellent business acumen and the ability to successfully plan for, and manage the commercial success of the setting.
  • A proven track record in attaining Good or Outstanding OFSTED results under your direct management.
