Mechanical Design Engineer (Conveyors/ Material Handling Equipment)

Location: Nottingham

Package: Up to £45k, plus annual bonus (very achieveable), Pension, Overtime

Working hours; Days (8.30am start with an early finish on a Friday)

As an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer you will be working as a senior member of the design team and liasing with different departments and customers to work on bespoke designs of conveyor systems

On a day to day basis
  • The role will centre heavily on producing 2D layout drawings from 3D for control systems for the mechanical assemblies and parts
  • You will be using mechanical measurement tools and gauges, computerised measurement tools and optical inspection equipment to be able to verify parts and designs which would enable you to diagnose electro-mechanical issues
  • At key stages of the project you will be chairing DFMA sessions and issuing follow up actions and reports
  • Creating technical documentation, technical reports and manufacturing documentation.
  • You will also be mentoring junior members of the team and assigning them work projects.

To be considered for the role
  • You will already have an established career as a Mechanical Design Engineer and ideally have experience of Conveyor Systems
  • Hands on exposure to the design of electro-mechanical systems in an industrial, automotive or aerospace environment.
  • Expertise in the use of 3D CAD design software (ideally SolidWorks)
  • A good working knowledge of stress anaylsis tools
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and a willingness to keep abreast of advancements in all aspects of engineering
  • Able to confidently communicate with the wider project team and cutomers
