Overview

The company who are a global leader, and is specialise in the manufacturing industry are seeking an Electrically biased - Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its Maintenance Team on a Monday to Friday Three Shift Weekly rotating pattern 6am - 2pm/2pm - 10pm/10pm - 6am.

The primary role of the Maintenance Technician is to maintain their machinery on site and keep the plant downtime to a minimum while adhering to health and safety procedures as well as diagnosing and aiming to prevent faults occurring whiling adhering to ISO standards.

Main Tasks
  • To carry out the most appropriate and effective repairs to electrical & electronic equipment in line with engineering standards and legislative requirements (ISO Standards, 18th edition etc)
  • To carry out test and inspection of electrical & electronic equipment in line with testing timetables
  • To maintain stock spares to the agreed levels to provide continuous running of all essential electrical & mechanical plant and equipment
  • To support the Planned Preventative Maintenance system, ensuring actions are completed in line with requirements
  • To carry out in house calibrations in line with company policies and procedure
  • To assist in installation and maintenance of engineering project
  • Under the guidance of the Maintenance Team Leader, contribute to engineering/electrical and instrumentation drawings and documentation
  • To assess the risks associated with all work carried out and take adequate precaution
  • To preserve product quality by considering the opportunities for product contamination and product failure; taking appropriate control measures to prevent defects occurring
  • To drive for a proactive maintenance system in order to decrease reactive maintenance downtime

You
  • Multi skilled Electrical bias.
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical, time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Background in Manufacturing is essential, though experience in an electrical cable manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience of electrical maintenance and installation preferably in a heavy engineering environment
