SLR Dynamics have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Product Development/ Solution Architect with an understanding of Cloud / Virtualisation / SDN / NFV to join us in an exciting new venture with a global Tier 1 Telecoms company. The successful candidate will work in a cutting-edge Agile / DevOps environment, providing technical design and deployment support to a large-scale, multi-vendor European cloud programme. You will also build DevOps and Agile capability within our friendly family-run company, developing and mentoring other technical experts.

We are looking for candidates who can offer:

* Experience of Juniper CSO roadmap, NFX, CPE and Virtualisation OR Cisco Viptela (SD - WAN) and Virtual Managed Services

* Experience as a Solutions Architect focussing on large scale, complex, transformational Software Defined Networking Solutions.

* Ability to produce technical designs for multi technology solutions.

* Deep technical knowledge of data centre infrastructure, cloud, virtualisation technologies and architecture, and Telco OSS/BSS Solutions

* Experience in Agile and DevOps environments.

* Experience of cloud computing architecture and design gained in IT and / or Telco environments.

* Ability to develop business cases

* The ability to lead multi-functional and multi-cultural teams to deliver results and change.

* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to articulate both technical and business ideas clearly and simply.

* Analysis skills, lateral and highly creative thinking.

* Experience in:

* Cisco and Juniper skills (SDN Controller) / recent Juniper platform experience

* Ancillary platforms - open stack; onboarding platform; DevOps

* Amazon cloud

* Telco registration system - network programming

* Support in analytics - data modelling

* AI / machine learning

* Open frameworks

* API programming

* Vendor management

* A strong working knowledge of English.

The following requirements are desirable, but not essential:

* International business experience.

* Fluency or a strong working knowledge of another major European language.

* Experience in developing and mentoring other staff.

Other requirements:

* Able to start within May or June.

* Candidates will need to be able to pass a security check, including a credit and police records check.

* This role will require the postholder to be able to travel to sites in both Newbury and Reading.

* The postholder may occasionally be required to work evenings and nights.

Responsibilities will include:

Solution ownership for complex, transformational infrastructure solutions.

Pre and post-sales consultancy. Providing assistance to sales specialists helping identify and qualify solution opportunities, and providing bid support as required.

Establishing a full understanding of user needs and using these to develop project requirements.

Actively identifying solution development opportunities.

Owning and managing the scoping and definition of conceptual design by understanding and translating business requirements into technical solutions, for the virtual cloud infrastructure which supports the OSS operation for a global Tier 1 telecoms company and for NFV/SDN solutions for their European markets.

Preparing mid- and long- term technology plans in line with the vendor's roadmap, to ensure that solutions will continue to give excellent performance as technology evolves, develop and traffic grows.

Building and driving a team including SLR and Client Consultants to successfully deliver solutions.
