Who you'll be working for:
A construction and Management business who specialise in commercial and industrial projects across a wide range of industries. They have secured a framework agreement to provide a wide range of services for a nuclear facility in the Cumbria region. As such they have opportunities in their project team for multiple Project Engineers with a Mechanical bias.
The people you'll be working with:
Reporting to the Project Manager, you'll work with a growing team based at their client's facility in West Cumbria. The current team consists of a diverse range of around 80 people dedicated to the project.
What you'll be asked to achieve:
You will lead the safe delivery of your assigned work packages which will include mechanical engineering installation of an industrial scale boiler system, procurement and construction for mechanical disciplines and systems of the project, whilst maintaining quality targets as defined in the project and quality plans.
In order to fulfil this, you will be required to:
* Manage and communicate schedule and quality performance across the project work scope.
* Ensuring that the project communicates, reviews and reports progress and trends on all project milestones.
* Ensure that safety is paramount on the project and project safety initiatives are delivered and executed across the project.
* Ensure that the works are fit for purpose and satisfy the project requirements
* Co-ordinate interfaces between the electrical functions and other project disciplines to maintain overall project performance.
* Ensure that project risks and contingencies are recognised, correctly outlined in the project risk register with reductions put in place and managed
* Manage with clear concise direction.
* Ensure that Project Managers Instructions and Early Warning Notices are managed for the delivery functions.
* Manage the safe delivery of the mechanical package which includes engineering design, procurement, supporting construction.
* Identify and act upon opportunities for safety, schedule, cost or quality improvements.
* Chair and attend meetings as dictated by project requirements.
This role would suit someone with:
* Experience working on a nuclear facility within the engineering or construction sector
* Knowledge of piping and welding standards in a nuclear environment.
* Security clearance to SC level
* Experience in project reporting
* Good working knowledge project software
