My exclusive client is a medium sized manufacturing business which is embarking on a transformation programme to reorganize the group so it can deliver on its future targets.

They are seeking an experienced finance professional who will manage the management accounting function effectively. Based at the main group Head Office in Huthwaite near J28 of the M1

Overview

You will be working within the Commercial Finance Team whose objectives are:

·Financial Control; to ensure resources are directed, monitored and measured in an accurate and timely manner and to maintain a 'No Surprises Environment'

·Financial Planning; to allocate future resources beneficially to the business and to introduce a clear method to achieve these plans

·Strategy; to help build and execute an action plan and to drive long term objectives. The senior members of the finance team are the CFO and the Financial Controller. This role will report to the Financial Controller.

The Role

·Delivery of a comprehensive monthly board pack with strong visuals to clearly identify KPI's for use by the senior management team.

·Management and development of a small team of business unit accountants.

·Assisting Commercial & Planning Manager in producing Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Forecast.

·Ensuring accuracy and integrity of all aspects of the divisional accounts

·Production and maintenance of all financial and business KPIs

·Analysis of Gross Margin % and investigating variances to prior month and Budget/Forecast.

·Direct Labour Reporting to Senior Management, and interrogation of labour cost per unit.

·Preparation of Annual Payroll Budget.

·Other ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by the CFO and other Board members.

·Co-ordinating monthly and annual inventory counts, investigating variances, and reporting on the results.

·PPV analysis and monitoring of and reporting on trade agreement pricing for main raw materials.

·Assisting External Auditors during year end audit.

·Weekly reporting of Sales and Margins by product category.

·Weekly reporting of Sales by Customer, and investigations into significant movement in customer margins.

The Person
  • Qualified accountant with several years PQE in a business environment.
  • Track record in a manufacturing / industrial setting of medium / large business.
  • Exposure to managing staff would be advantageous.
  • Good accounting knowledge.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Organised with ability to implement and follow systems and procedures.
  • IT skills, with knowledge of Excel and ideally MS Dynamics AX or 365.

The Rewards
  • A salary of £50 - £65,000 (dependent on experience)
