Primary Care Mental Health Nurse

Dudley Primary Care Mental Health Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our established primary care mental health service.

We are an award-winning, ambitious mental health trust located in the West Midlands. We primarily provide services to the Black Country boroughs of Dudley and Walsall, but also outside of this area, and are committed to growing and developing our services.

We are working closely with our commissioner, Dudley CCG, at an exciting time, developing integrated care teams across health and social care, with a view to significantly increase access to treatment for people with common mental health conditions within a community setting.

If successful, you will be working with GP's, other Mental Health Services and the wider Primary Care health teams across the area. The role is largely clinical with an expectation that you will have excellent assessment skills and be able to direct care with compassion and efficiency, as well as including mental health promotion and liaise with a wide range of statutory and non-statutory organisations.

Successful candidates will be expected to manage their own case load of clients and be required to review referrals and undertake screening assessments, risk assessment, medication management, deliver brief interventions and refer/signpost clients to other services. The role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of mental health problems presented by clients within a primary care mental health setting.

The post holder will also be able to provide support, education and problem solving advice to other members of the local primary and secondary care teams particularly in the areas of assessment and management of common mental health problems in adults and older adults.

Please come and join our committed and friendly team. We welcome applications from experienced and qualified mental health nurses.
