About us:

KMPT provides specialist acute services across Kent. We are proud to have been rated 'Outstanding' for Caring and 'Good overall' in our most recent CQC inspection. Our specialist acute services are located across a number of sites within the beautiful county of Kent in Dartford, Maidstone and Canterbury.

The Acute Care Group serves the community of Kent with a population of approximately 1.6 million people, specialising in the assessment and treatment of adults of working age who are acutely mentally ill. We provide inpatient facilities in state of the art environments, working alongside extensive home treatment teams and liaison psychiatry services. We offer a progressive service where your skills and knowledge will be enhanced to further your development and expertise.

Our acute admission wards in St Martin's Hospital, Canterbury, provide care to adults of working age and we're looking for enthusiastic, motivated and flexible RMN/RNLD nurses to join our established team based here in this beautiful cathedral city.

We take pride in our services which are underpinned by our values of respect, openness, accountability, working together, innovation and excellence.

About the role:

We have a number of opportunities to work on our acute inpatient wards in St Martin's Hospital, Canterbury, two of which are single sex and two of which are mixed.

We are looking for dedicated Staff Nurses to join us and be part of our forward thinking, progressive service, that invests in staff through continuous development and career progression.
You might be a newly qualified RMN/RNLD nurse, or an experienced nurse looking for a new challenge, and you would love to join a forward thinking service. We can also offer opportunities for rotational posts in our inpatient services, place of safety and liaison teams.

You will fit well within our team if you are enthusiastic, motivated and flexible, and are dedicated to providing high quality, person-centred care and support to patients experiencing acute mental health difficulties in an in-patient environment, as you may be required to work in other wards as necessary.

To recognise your talent and experience we also offer a £1,200 'New Hire' bonus for registered nursing staff joining us in a band 5 or 6 front line nursing role with direct patient care.

Employment in this post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service.

In the winter of 2017, we launched our new and exciting Nursing Strategy, which is attached here for your reference. Our strategy will support our registered and unregistered nursing staff to provide the best care possible to our patients and their families, whilst enjoying a long and supportive career with us here at KMPT.

This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.
