My client is a commercial and dynamic firm of Chartered Accountants with mulitsited offices in Essex.

They have seen year on year growth and have further exciting expansion plans in place, as a result they need to recruit a Manager / Senior Accountant for their Brentwood office.

The Role As a Manager / Senior Accountant, they would expect the following experience and expertise:

• Handling compliance aspects for clients, together with day to day queries on a commercial basis

• Managing own/junior staff workflow and client work

• Responsible for training of junior staff, including an appraisal of work

• Developing abilities in more complex areas of tax and other client matters, building technical knowledge appropriate for your role

• Responsibility for working within a set budget, together with an ability to discuss fees with clients

• The ability to communicate effectively with both more senior and junior staff and clients

• The ability to problem solve and find effective solutions to issues

• Achievement of chargeability and recoverability targets

• Supporting their team, administration and professional staff

• Preparing statutory accounts for a variety of client types and filing with Companies House.

• Prepare and file VAT, Payroll, CIS returns.

• Prepare and file personal tax returns.

• Updating statutory records, including filing of confirmation statements.

• Work to tight time constraints and within budget.

• You will be able to handle multiple tasks whilst being organised and methodical in your approach.

• You will have worked and or be familiar of a range of accounting software such as Xero; Quick books; IRIS; VT; CCH; Sage 50; SAP; SAPA; Forbes.

You will have had significant experience within a firm of accountants in a similar role, be qualified eitherACA, ACCA.
