Forest House Adolescent Unit is a 16 bedded in-patient unit for 13-18 year olds, and is a New Care Models pilot site for NHS england.

What this means is, Tier 4 in Hertfordshire has changed, to offer an alternative to in-patient admissions in the form of an award nominated Home Treatment Team.

The Home Treatment Team and the in-patient team will be working side by side, very closely, to enable young people to recieve the right care, at the right time for the right individual!

The team Leader roles are pivitol to this model.

We are looking for a Band 7 nurse who can join us to deliver safe and effective inpatient services that aims to embrace recovery by working in partnership with service users and their carers.

We would be interested to hear from you if you are interested in gaining experience in managing a CAMHS in-patient unit.

Our Services aim to provide a high standard of treatment and care in a safe and therapeutic setting for service users in the acute and vulnerable stage of their illness.

The post holder will be required to provide comprehensive, professional, effective leadership and managerial support to the unit under the direction of the Matron.

This is 1 of 2 posts, that has oversight and 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the provision and management of high quality nursing care, and for the treatment of service users within the inpatient service area. You will be required to clinically lead, develop and support care delivery, working with service users and staff to ensure practices that respond effectively to both individual and service need.

The post holder will be to provide effective clinical leadership to ensure all nursing staff receive the appropriate supervision and support in conjunction with an agreed professional development plan.

Furthermore, the post holder will be responsible for establishing and maintaining team systems and processes for effective operation of the team, and to ensure compliance with the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (including outcome measurements), audit and annual service policy review.

The successful candidate must display a considerable degree of initiative, possess mature judgement and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with service users, their relatives, colleagues and visitors.

The post holder will be required to work independently using initiative, and applying a high degree of confidentiality to all of their work. They must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, manage competing demands and organise your own work in meeting deadlines in order for the smooth running of the ward area.
