Job Description - Business Change Manager (030344)Business Change Manager 030344Organisation - Programme & Project ManagementJob - Project ManagementPosition Type - Full Time Salary: Competitive plus excellent benefitsLocation: Central London6 month fixed term contractOverview of project/roleIn order to deliver the Mayor's vision for the London transport network, TfL must deliver a challenging and complex Transformation agenda, modernising the way it is organised and operates to become more effective and deliver significant savings targets (up to £500m over the course Business Plan). This Change Management role is responsible for ensuring that changes are delivered in a positive, engaging way that takes into account the needs of the business, its people and its stakeholders.The purpose of the role is to help deliver business change activities and provide support for projects and programmes within the remit of the Transformation Directorate, ensuring that:Business areas affected by Change are prepared for the transition to new ways of workingChange is delivered in a way that maintains people motivation and engagementBusiness as Usual is maintained during the transitionChanges are effectively integrated into the businessKey AccountabilitiesCoordinates impact assessments to understand how change initiatives affect different stakeholders groups (staff / Trade Unions / customers / general public).Engages with project and programme users to ensure user input into project scope and delivery approach is considered and managed. Develops strong relationships with the area undergoing change and works in conjunction to develop implementation plans and business change interventions to support staff through change (e.g. effective communication).Develops and monitors progress against business change plans, ensuring that activities on the plans are completed on time and to a high standard.Works with the business to develop and implement appropriate metrics to track effective implementation including monitoring engagement levels and reputation of projects/programmes amongst critical internal and external stakeholders.Builds change capability within projects and programmes where appropriate. Identifies, and where possible resolves, business change risks or issues. Escalate unresolved issues, risks and dependencies at the earliest possible opportunity.Skills, Knowledge & Experience SkillsGood stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop credibility and influence these stakeholders. - EssentialAbility to structure and facilitate workshops and engagement sessions with groups of affected staff, to develop change management plansHighly driven, detail oriented with strong organisational and planning skills.Have vision, commitment and enthusiasm for business change, with the tenacity and resilience to overcome opposition.Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels across the organisation and outside.Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment and generate high quality outputs to time and cost.KnowledgeRecognised qualifications in business change are desirable.Good knowledge of change management methodology, frameworks and tools for example capability gap analysis, change impact assessment, communication strategy and planning, culture change, training assessment, design, delivery and evaluation - EssentialGood understanding of designing and delivering change within a large complex organisation - EssentialWorking knowledge of programme and project management tools, techniques and methodologies.Some understanding of working in a unionised environment and the legal implication of business change.ExperienceExperience of working in a large and complex organisation ideally public sector and/or a unionised environment. - EssentialWorking knowledge of how change in managed in TfL is desirable but not essential. Experience of influencing, negotiating with, and providing challenge to senior stakeholders. Proven record of supporting projects and programs to successfully deliver by successfully translating change management theory into practice and working collaboratively with the project/programme and wider business to deliver change.
