Role Overview
An experienced Warehouse Planning & Optimisation Manager is required in order to lead and grow Wincanton's and KraftHeinz business. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a key strategic customer, and support in establishing a talented optimisation team, involving all aspects of inbound, outbound, export and repack.

Reporting to the Contract General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivering a safe, efficient and successful operation, whilst engaging with the management team to delivering an optimal plan considering cost and customer service across both organisations.

The successful candidate will have experience in an FMCG environment, an ability to maximise planning to increase the performance, efficiency and optimisation of the warehouse to ensure that a comprehensive and proactive service is provided to both internal and external customers.

This role requires a natural leader, someone who has an ability to engage with all stakeholders and an ability to successfully implement change. This is an excellent opportunity to work in partnership with the leadership team to develop a successful ONE Team engaging culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an optimised plan across varying scenarios
  • Accountable for solution generation within the supply chain incorporating both organisations
  • Identifying best practices within FMCG warehousing and repack
  • Delivering an overall operational plan
  • Accountability of the end to end process map
  • Key decision maker in deciding volume split and stock holding between both organisational plants
  • Generating playbook KPIs weekly, monthly, quarterly
  • Developing further operational KPIs to drive performance uplifts
  • Scenario building / What-if calculations enhancing cost models on the way
  • Coordinating with the execution team on the demand greater than capacity

Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in SAP, WMS, Microsoft and have exceptional IT & analytical skills to drive performance
  • A track record in delivering innovative performance improvements and operational excellence
  • Strong experience of manufacturing logistics / supply chain with varying levels of complexity
  • An ability to react to customer demands by providing project solutions in a fast-paced environment with minimal operational impact
  • Excellent commercial acumen - understands dynamics of cost and service that is focused on internal and external customers
  • Agile approach to strategy and planning with a proven experience of adapting operational plans to changing customer requirements
  • Has worked within Continuous Improvement programmes and can demonstrate an appreciation of key methodologies and approaches
  • Execute a 'positive customer experience' at all times.
  • Manage all change projects successfully and be able to continually review how changes may give benefits to both organisation
  • An ability to value stream map, and identify route cause via analysis to understand issues and create preventative measures and improve performance
