As such we are seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to take an important PM team leading role across our Public Sector offering (Local Govt Departments & Councils). This role is only suitable to those individuals that have key team leadership qualities and skillsets associated with business generation. There is potential for swift career progression for the successful candidate based on strong effort, performance, behaviours and results.Job ObjectivesLeading/writing/converting our multi-disciplinary public sector bid proposals, working in tandem with the Office Director in maximising opportunity across the Public SectorManaging the delivery of our Turner & Townsend Project Management services and Multi-disciplinary services (where acting as Economic Operator) across public sector projects, supported by support staff, where appropriateLeading the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project(s), including time, cost, technical and performance parameters of major construction projectsLeading and managing the commercial aspects of contracts, including management of NEC PSC contracts and sub-contracts.Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project teamMonitoring, advising and controlling project financesActive input/Identifying opportunities, working with Senior Management Team, but leading in developing new business with new and existing clients and developing new opportunitiesPlanning for and managing the on-going quality, safety, health and environment issues on projectsEstablishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised on commissions.Project planning, including ensuring the production of the detailed project plans and programmes, in accordance with NEC requirements (Bids and project delivery)Advising upon the procurement of professional, and other, services critical to the development processManaging risk, value and change management processesManaging the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communicationsEnsuring the production of high quality formal project progress and other key project reportsChairing meetings and timely distribution of high quality minutesTaking a leading role with the client and other consultants, at all project stagesActing as a mentor and providing guidance and assistance for more junior members of the Turner & Townsend team with responsibility as line manager for direct reportsSkills RequiredEducation Requirement: Degree or its equivalent in Project Management or Related FieldChartered with a minimum of 10 years post graduate project management experience, preferably gained within a consultancy environmentIt is envisaged that this individual has been operating within the Northern Ireland Public Sector market for some time, has been acting successfully in a Senior Project Management role, and is ready to take on their next career challengeProfessionally qualified (maintained chartership) in one of the following fields: construction, project management, quantity surveying, engineering, or architecture.A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project conception stage, through all of the operational stages to completion and post-project review.Skilled in Microsoft Project; experience of Asta Powerproject would be beneficialExcellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools, and techniques, including NEC PSC and construction contracts.NEC PM Accreditation an advantageConversant and understanding delivering projects to BIM Level 2Experience gained within the local construction environment, ideally public sector projects such as schools, colleges, healthcare and other publicly funded buildingsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEligible to work in the UKTURNER & TOWNSENDTurner & Townsend is a global professional services provider that supports organisations that invest in, own and operate assets.Working from 108 offices around the globe, we are making the difference to projects across the property, infrastructure and natural resources sectors worldwide.
