We are working in partnership with one of the UK's most well known Aerospace supply companies. Their Fuel Systems & Composites division, re looking for a Project Manager who can plan, monitor and manage internal project(s), from initiation through completion for the composites element of the business.
Based in the Shepshed facility the PM engages internal resources to ensure project delivery is on time and aligned with project requirements and objectives. The role will apply professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead project processes while controlling cost, performance and risk. The nature of the role requires a thorough grasp of engineering drawings and concepts with a particular need for an appreciation of manufacturability.
Job Core Responsibilities
* Plans, coordinates, implements and finalizes projects according to specifications and deadlines, while keeping the project within budget
* Represent the client as the customer interface for your projects
* Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
* Other responsibilities as assigned
* Develops improvements and innovations to enhance performance of the PM Team
* Tracks, reports and forecasts milestones to provide status reports to requesting department/team
* Monitors, manages and forecasts project budgets; reviewing expense reports to determine if allocated funds are managed properly
* Identify, assess and minimises risks throughout the project lifecycle, seeking to prevent risk arisings; ensure mitigation plans are robust and executed
* Creates schedules and reviews timeline objectives with team in order to estimate efforts required to reach objectives
* Works with other participants to complete project scope, goals and deliverables, while adhering to the budget and timing constraints
* Generates the project's objectives, schedules and oversees quality control throughout the project
Job Specifications
Education: Relevant degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications: APMP (Desirable) or PRINCE2 Practitioner (Desirable)
Years Experience: 5 -7 years of relevant experience. Experience of working in a/managing technically demanding programmes with design and manufacturing engineers would be an advantage
Skills: Proficient in the use of MS Office and project management software. Experience of using and interrogating ERP systems is desirable
* Strong, demonstrable experience in project management methodology
* Demonstrable experience in negotiating and influencing internal and customer stakeholders is essential
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop clear and detailed plans
* Self-motivated with problem solving and decision making skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel often with conflicting priorities
* Ability to work independently and interface with cross-functional disciplines; using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
* Ability to adapt and respond to changes in requirements and priorities
* Possess a robust technical background to understand and evaluate the technical specifications, requirements and capabilities associated with the project(s)
