The benefits package is fantastic with this employer and they really support the development of there staff. You will be part of an IT team of 7 and you will be managing around 4 members.

The purpose of the role will be 25% managing IT Team and 75% responsible for the infrastructure of the various sites throughout the UK. Manage IT projects and maintain relationship with 3rd party vendors. Design, maintain and develop the IT Infrastructure and systems within the organisation and across the larger district. To be the subject matter expert for liaison with 3rd parties on technology projects internally and externally.

Key requirements:-

* Experience leading, mentoring and inspiring teams of IT and non IT stake holders

* Work with diverse teams to manage their performance to inspire professional and personal development

* Provide advice to business partners on project design, costs, and expected benefits

* Experience with designing, replacing and maintaining enterprise systems such as:

o Backups and recovery

o Networking - WAN/LAN & Wi-Fi

o Servers & Storage

o Server software systems

o Client devices and printers

* Experience of working in an engineering environment

Responsibilities

* Deputise for the Head of IT when required.

* Work closely with IT professionals and business partners to choose and assess compatible design solutions. Prepare supporting documentation and budget costings

* Ensure that local infrastructure and information systems are secure from threats scalable and kept up to date to avoid obsolesce and to meet the changing organisational requirements

* Define and enforce appropriate technical standards and procedures

* Liaises with group to develop best practice architecture design to maximize support to the business

* Provide technical experience and advice for the team, coordination of projects and the wider business

* Advise on new technologies and skills as appropriate. Being an advocate for the business
