Howarth Morris are currently recruiting for Management/Cost Accountant for an SME engineering business in Warrington. This is a newly created role due to a strong period of growth and recent acquisitions. You will be responsible for the provision of financial information to support management control and decision making. You will be a key player in driving performance, ensuring the business is constantly progressing and any potential problems are identified and fixed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

•Work closely with Project Managers/Controllers, Billing Specialist to obtain produce project financials, project analysis and forecasts
•Preparing timley and accurate weekly/monthly production reports i.e. P&L, WIP analysis
•Preparation and/or review of balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving any anomalies/risks/opportunities
•Review and support business managers with actual costs incurred on projects suggest forecast revisions where necessary
•Financial analysis by project type/department and staff performance for monthly board reports
•Administration of the project accounting system
•Weekly utilisation and project reporting
•Supporting Internal and External Audit procedures as required
•Driving and supporting Continuous Improvement of processes in the team
•Providing support to the Leadership Team and Board Directors as required

Candidate Requirements:

•ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified/Finalist or QBE
•Previous management accounting experience in a manufacturing, construction, civil/structural or mechanical engineers
•High attention to detail and an ability to review and complete work quickly and accurately
•Commercially focused in order to understand, support & respond to demands from the business for operational finance support
•Proactive and able to review business processes in order to effect & instigate plans for future improvement

Applicants will be systems savvy and have experience with a variety of ERP systems, preferably in the construction/engineering sectors. You will be organised, structured, tenacious, a completer finisher' with good people skills and the ability to work with people at all levels across the business to ensure a successful integration of a new ERP.
