Are you a finance assistant seeking a new and exciting role in a large, collaborative team?

Are you AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA part-qualified or working towards or possess equivalent experience?

UKAEA requires a Finance Assistant to work in its busy and expanding Finance team for a period of 12 months to cover a period of Maternity Leave. You will work closely with the management accounts team as well as the financial accounts team, responsible for supporting them with day to day activities.

You will perform general finance and accounting tasks, treasury, timesheet and administrative tasks that are necessary to ensure the efficient functioning of the financial team.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

-Entering journals at request of Management Accountants to assist with their period end routines, as well as helping with changes to Project structures and any other one-off journals as required.
-Support programme finance business partner in the production of monthly project reports.
-Support with grant submissions including the reconciling and collating of all supporting evidence, as per grant conditions.
-Support with internal/external audit requirements - this will involve collating information, liaising with HR and other departments as required.
-Support with Budgeting and forecasting cycles.
-Support and mentor the Finance Apprentice providing guidance and assistance relating to the chasing of missing and unapproved timesheet
You will be a pro-active team player with strong time management skills and a good attention to detail.

Knowledge skills and experience

-Part qualified or working towards a relevant qualification (eg AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA), or equivalent experience
-Proficient in excel and ability to handle numeric data accurately

-Strong time management skills
-Good written and oral communication skills
-Good attention to detail
-Experience of U4BW would be an advantage

Special requirements:
Selection Method(s):
-interviews will be held on 5th or 6th July 2019.
