An exciting opportunity has arisen for an RNMH Deputy Ward Manager (Band 6) position to join our dedicated team within the inpatient Forensic Rehabilitation service at Ty Skirrid based at Maindiff Court Hospital.

We are looking for an RNMH who has commitment to working within the specialism of Forensic Rehabilitation and is innovative and enthusiastic, who can demonstrate an enthusiasm for the ongoing development of the service and who has a particular interest in psychological therapies and implementing groups.

Our service provides a comprehensive and holistic care for patients who require a step down from secure services or who have challenging behaviours and would benefit from a protracted period of rehabilitation. The unit consists of a 12 bedded staffed rehabilitation ward and a 3 bedded unstaffed house for those individuals who are more able to function independently.

As a deputy ward manager you will need to possess good clinical knowledge and have experience in working with individuals with complex mental health needs and be able to demonstrate skills in clinical leadership. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality person centred care, contributing to the development and shaping of care delivery in accordance with national and local policy.

You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, carers and other professionals. A sound understanding of risk management and the CTP process is expected. Supervision of junior colleagues as well as supporting the ward manager in the running of the unit is also expected.

You will be joining a team that is passionate and focused on achieving excellence in care delivery, for this challenging and rewarding patient group. The successful post holder will in the absence of the ward manager oversee the management of the ward.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
