Company Accountant: An ambitious hands-on Company Accountant seeking to become immersed in the operations of a thriving SME sized business, is required to oversee all aspects of the finance function for one of London's most prestigious florists.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Company Accountant to work closely with the owner Manager and part-time Finance Director, supported by a Finance Assistant.

As Company Accountant, you should have a proven track record performing a similar hands-on role in an SME sized company. The ability to process transactions through to trial balance (and production of management accounts if able) and familiarity with relevant business processes is preferred. An ability to manage the transition to new systems (migrated from Sage to Xero) would be helpful too.

Key Finance Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and accurate management reporting including monthly payroll activities
  • Manage efficiently the accurate recording of the Company's transactions, and the working capital of the business with effective credit control practices and supplier payments runs.
  • Implement process and systems that drive business efficiency
  • Ensure the Company is compliant with all statutory obligations

Skills & Experience:
  • Experienced accountant AAT qualified or part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Payroll experience
  • Demonstrable understanding of accounting concepts from relevant work experience.
  • Intermediate Excel skills are a requirement
  • Previous experience of SME accounting packages, Xero / Sage etc
  • A proactive, motivated, enthusiastic and outgoing individual who wants to grow and learn
  • A willingness to embrace change and ability to multi-task
  • The ability to work confidently and efficiently independently, around colleagues and with suppliers and customers
  • Excellent planning, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
