This is a critical role, within our Flexibles Manufacturing team, Glenrothes, where you will be responsible for implementing engineering concepts and studying the technical aspects of manufacturing. As Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for technical management, maintenance and development of new and existing product lines. You will successfully support the production of high quality products efficiently using the most cost effective methods and with the aim of reducing the impact of production on the environment and optimisation of the organisation in areas such as materials, machinery, methodologies and processes. Your expertise will be vital to the continuous improvement of product quality through leaner concepts and activities. This will be a hands-on role where you will interact with the shop floor team as well as with engineering and manufacturing groups. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure all company policies surrounding health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met.

*

Utilise CAD/CAM software to ensure there are no shortfalls of programs available on relevant machines.

*

Fully accountable for achieving all relevant KPIs.

*

Maintain the up-to-date visual management whiteboard.

*

Enhance delivery performance and customer satisfaction.

*

Create and take ownership of SOPs to ensure consistent standardized shop floor processes.

*

Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in industrial plant: Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilising knowledge of product design, materials and parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Work with the manufacturing department and help them understand the technical concepts that should be looked after during the manufacturing process of the products.

Working closely with the quality assurance team to make sure that the product is meeting the quality constraints as well

*

Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

*

Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates= products according to specifications and quality standards.

*

Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

*

Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

*

Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

*

Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
