A proactive Electrical safety Compliance Engineer is required for our global electro-mechanical engineering client based in Fareham, Hampshire to ensure the company's electrical products and designs are compliant with legal standards and regulations. This role would suit a proactive and passionate engineer with a good understanding of CE marking compliance and the ability to relate this to the engineering team and management, my client is looking for someone who can guide them and be there go-to person in terms of compliance for new products,someone who can ensure they are safety compliant and the products meet the standards for the market.

This is a permanent full time hours position of 37.5 hours of Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm and a great career opportunity. This compliance test role requires a qualified engineer with good knowledge of product safety, electrical safety standards EMC (e.g. IEC 61010-1, IEC60533) and CE Marking directives and experience of compilation of technical files and working with notified bodies and regulations. Candidates with knowledge of machinery safety compliance (ISO12100) and High voltage would be of interest but this can be trained along with my client's product range.

The ideal Compliance Engineer candidate will have the following key skills and experiences;
  • HNC / Bachelors degree / Masters in Engineering or science discipline or Electrical / Mechanical /Industrial / Industrial Safety Engineering
  • Experience of compiling and maintaining Technical Files for complex electronic or electro-mechanical products in accordance with CE Marking requirements
  • Good experience of working with notified bodies and laboratories for the compliance assessment and testing of product sagainst harmonised standards for electrical safety and EMC (e.g. IEC61010-1, IEC 60533)
  • Knowledge of Best practices for designing products for compliance with harmonised standards for electrical safety and EMC (e.g. IEC 61010-1, IEC60533) and ideally Risk Assessment of Machinery ISO 12100 but machinery safety can be trained
  • A good understanding of the requirements on manufacturers for CE Marking and the practical application of the latest EU Low Voltage and EMC, Machinery, RoHS, Reach and WEEE Directives
You will be responsible for maintaining, controlling and ensuring the company's electrical products comply to the regulatory standards of the EU Directives (CE), UL, FCC and industry standards and guidelines such as DNV, IMCA, NORSOK and Lloyds Register- it is not essential you have experience of these specific standards but is essential you have good experience of CE Marking directives.
