Consultant Ecologist - Leeds

My client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy that have been established for over 60 years. They provide services such as master planning, environmental assessment, landscape design, urban design, ecology, arboriculture and architecture. This allows them to respond to a variety of projects that are often complex and challenging. Due to their ever-increasing client portfolio and the continuing development of their ecology department in the office near Leeds, they are looking to appoint an experienced professional for the role of Ecologist.

To achieve this role, it is required that you have:

* At least 3 years' relevant consultancy experience;

* Project management experience;

* Good Extended Phase 1 habitat and / or protected species survey skills;

* One or more protected species survey licences;

* Good report writing skills;

* Competency in common software packages such as MS Office, QGIS or similar;

* A Full / Associate Membership of CIEEM or be eligible to apply.

* A current UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

During your time at this role you will be:

* Supporting liaison with project managers and clients on the delivery of ecological requirements within multi-disciplinary tenders and projects;

* Organising and carrying out desk studies and field-based habitat, botanical, protected and non-native invasive species surveys.

* Safe delivery of protected species and habitat surveys; analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies;

* Performing the role of an Ecological Clerk of Works on construction projects;

* Adaptable and flexible approach to work to meet peaks in demands (as all roles are likely to involve occasional longer/and or unsociable hours and a degree of working away from home for days/ weeks at a time)
