Founded in 1933, the practice comprises 29 partners and approximately 310 staff supplying a range of services spanning audit, corporate taxation, private client services, VAT, business recovery and forensic accounting, together with a range of sector groups offering specialist industry knowledge.
The Department:
The Internal Accounts Department, which is based in Watford, comprises some 11 staff dealing with the Time and Billings function, Purchase Ledger, Treasury and Credit Control along with all Management and Statutory Accounts requirements for the HW Fisher Group.

The Role:

We require a junior accounts assistant to join our Accounts Department, specifically within the Accounts Payable team, based in our Watford office. However, there are plans for the department to relocate to the London office in the Autumn of 2019.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The role will demand a commitment to learning and applying a broad range of new skills within the accounting function. As you would expect from a professional accounting firm, a high standard of work is expected. Duties would include:
  • Assisting with the Accounts Payable function
  • Inputting and scanning
  • Processing invoices by coding
  • Preparing payment runs for approval and final payment
  • Other ad hoc duties in line with the role

There may be the opportunity to assist in other areas of the Internal Accounts function in due course.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Good computer literacy;
  • The ability to work in a team, often alongside accounting professionals;
  • The ability to multi-task and manage your time;
  • High-level numerical skills;
  • Good attention to detail;
  • Good organisational skills with a methodical approach to work
  • The ability to work accurately and methodically with numbers

This position would suit a bright and hard-working school leaver who wishes to be exposed to a broad and varied role and to obtain experience in an accountancy office.

The successful candidate must be willing to transfer to the London office, based near Euston station, in the Autumn of 2019, following a training period in Watford.

We would offer study support for the AAT qualification on satisfactory completion of a probationary period.
