To support our ambitious growth plans, a substantial investment is being made in the IT Service Delivery function. Our IT teams work across the business and with our external partners to build, manage and support a secure and reliable IT service to meet these exciting plans. As part of this investment, we are adopting a Service Integration and Management ("SIAM") approach to managing both business and information technology services. The intention is to seamlessly integrate services to provide a single business-facing IT organisation that meets business requirements. This is a move away from managing technologies and infrastructure, to one of managing suppliers and services. By making this change the organisation will become more agile and flexible, able to scale services up and down as required to support business growth and expansion.

The Role

The Service Operations manager is responsible for maintaining a highly available production environment which can effectively support the business. As the incident management process owner work with all suppliers to recover IT services as quickly as possible and as the problem management process owner find the root cause of all incidents. Maintain accurate configuration and knowledge information and drive service improvement.

You will be responsible for;

* Delivering operational services to the business using ITIL and/or industry best practice

* Instilling a high performance culture in the team, service excellence and ownership for resolving customer issues

* Contributing proactively to new service development and work closely with other service delivery teams to ensure new services are successfully on-boarded

* Owning the process for both incident and problem management

* Ensuring operational procedures and practices are well defined, documented and consistently applied

* Driving a continual service improvement programme and work closely with all stakeholders to deliver the improvements required

The Person

* Good IT service operations background with a proven track record of delivering highly available services

* Solid leadership and people management skills with experience of growing and developing a service operations function

* Defining operational procedures, setting service standards and managing supplier performance

* Good understanding of all Service Operations processes

* Be able to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction and continuous improvement

* Good communications and stakeholder management skills

* Certified in ITIL V2 or V3
