What is the purpose of this role?

We are looking to appoint a Trainee Accountant to work within our Central Functions Finance Team. This position offers a rare opportunity for an individual looking to start their studies towards ACCA or CIMA or continue with them. Reporting into the Group Accountant you will assist in all aspects of accounting, from journal input to the preparation of management and statutory accounts.

What will this role involve?

• Assist in the production of management accounts
• Assist in the production of statutory accounts
• Assist with cash flow forecasting
• Create payment proposals and posting vendor payments
• Preparation of accruals and prepayments
• Reconciliation of inter-company transactions
• Resolution of invoice and vendor queries
• Resolution of queries from Accounts Receivable and accounts payable functions
• Other transactional support
• Ad hoc analysis

What are we looking for?

• Degree educated, 1st or 2:1 degree or equivalent
• Strong IT skills, including good knowledge of Excel and SAP (desirable and ability to master new IT systems
• Ability to take ownership of a task and see it through to completion
• Pro-active with the ability to think ahead, plan work and meet deadlines
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Highly developed communication skills and good team player
• Strong customer service ethic
