A fantastic EBD School in Oakham is seeking a brilliant English teacher to join their outstanding team. The post will be delivering English across the upper school (KS3/4) and will involve working alongside teaching assistants to ensure all students' needs are met.

You will be providing excellent classroom practice to groups of up to 6 students. Any other subject knowledge is desirable but not essential and you will be expected to contribute to wider curriculum eg. Off-site trips and outdoor education.

You will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Head formulate and implement strategic plans to that will enable the English department to provide education and care suitable for all students. You will oversee management of the English curriculum.

This position will involve teaching children who have a statement of special educational needs. Such pupils can be disruptive, aggressive and consequently difficult to support. Hence this will be a rewarding role for an applicant who can demonstrate excellent classroom management and effective handling of challenging behaviour.

The role is to start September 2019 on a full-time permanent basis.

The ideal teacher will be:

A qualified teacher (QTS)
Able to teach KS3/4 English curriculum
Able to lead teaching staff effectively
Experienced with EBD/SEMH or willing to work with EBD/SEMH
Resilient and patient
