Mechanical Maintenance Engineer To contribute to securing the continuity of production flow and production capabilities of the plant through reduction to the optimal level of downtimes / machinery stoppages caused by the required repairs and maintenance works.

Main Duties

Complete fault finding, planned and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment to maximise equipment reliability and performance

Carry out fault finding, problem solving and establish route cause fixes to address equipment issues

Maintain ongoing communications with the operations team ensuring they are fully aware of all relevant engineering activities and schedules

Experience with packaging equipment and fast paced production equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

Time served BTEC/HND

Working knowledge of CMMS

Conversant with Engineering and Manufacturing disciplines, CI, Lean Principles and 5S

Mechanical competence in the safe diagnosis / repair of faults within, gearboxes, shafts, conveyors, factory equipment, also fabrication and maintenance of equipment.

An electrical appreciation or 17/18th edition regs.

Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues.

Working within a CI environment.

Experience in welding and fabrication welding, MIG, TIG also mechanical maintenance.

Ability to work within a team

Flexible attitude

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to use own initiative and work independently

Motivated individual & welcomes personal development.

FMCG experience - preferably food
