An SME sized consumer goods business require a Supply Chain Manager. Applicants need experience within an importing FMCG business, and have expertise within; supply chain planning, forecasting, stock control or purchasing.

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for optimising stock levels to maximise product sales whilst at the same working to minimise stock levels. This business import consumer products from the Europe and the Far East, and supply into major UK retailers. Stock is stored across 2 warehouse locations. It's hoped the Supply Chain Manager will use analytical and quantitative methods to understand, forecast and enhance supply chain processes. Supporting product and logistics teams to ensure optimised forecasting and stock planning is also an important element of the role. The Supply Chain Manager will have 1 direct report, who undertakes supply chain analyst and demand planning type activities.

Specific duties of the Supply Chain Manager include:
  • Work closely with product team and suppliers to plan and schedule product availability
  • Optimise stock holding levels and monitor stock movements
  • Analyse data, including stock turns, seasonality and margins
  • Work with Sales and Commercial colleagues to produce sales forecasts
  • Communicate sales and demand planning forecasts to the supply chain
  • Agree prices and shipping schedules with suppliers
  • Plan seasonal stock inputs, new range changes and stock exits
  • Work with our logistics team to monitor and manage stock quality and discrepancies
  • Liaise with suppliers to support Account Managers in planning product availability
  • Support Commercial, Sales and Finance Manager in formulating company strategy

Supply Chain Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Experience in Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Forecasting, Stock Control or Purchasing
  • Experience within an importing, consumer goods, retail or distribution business
  • Experience working with global suppliers - particularly Far East or European supply chains
  • Knowledge of / experience using a demand planning, forecasting or planning tool - desirable
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
