NHS SBS provides a range of outsourced back office and digital IT services to NHS clients and trusts. Most recently this has included the delivery of outsourced ICT services to a number of NHS trusts covering the design, development, support, operation and maintenance of the client's server, storage, network, telephony, remote end user and desktop technologies and infrastructure.

NHS SBS is now working closely with its clients on plans to transform their legacy infrastructure technology platforms and the associated operational support and service delivery model.

The Director - IT Service Transformation will lead a programme of technology and service transformation for NHS SBS outsourced ICT Service clients.

Principle Responsibilities

·Lead a programme of technology transformation to migrate clients local on premise and hosted IT infrastructure to modern cloud based technology platforms

·Transform the ICT service delivery and operations in line with client requirements and contractual commitments

·Define and implement a new target operating model for the delivery of outsourced ICT services to the clients

·Lead and manage all associated organisational, people and process change activities required to deliver the new TOM and service contract

·Oversee the transition from existing to new 3rd party service providers and suppliers as required

·Organising and directing all project and operational managers, ensuring that effective project controls are established and maintained for all projects within their span of control

·Maintaining an understanding of, and regularly reporting, programme progress, plans, dependencies, risk and status clearly and accurately, to IT Director and the wider executive team

·Maintaining and controlling the financials of the programme and individual projects, working with financial and commercial teams to ensure the successful delivery of the programme in line with defined P&L targets

·Ensure business cases at key points of the projects are generated to demonstrate the value / benefits of particular milestones

·Ensure the ongoing successful delivery of outsourced ICT services to the clients throughout the period of transformation

·Leading by example, being visible and accessible, and setting the tone and pace for the programme by clearly communicating programme goals and success criteria, clearly specifying required outcomes and establishing priorities

·Lead the engagement of senior client stakeholders to promote, develop and grow the range of ICT services provided across the accounts

·Work with senior internal stakeholders, business development teams and technology functions to define and deliver new ICT services to the clients

Essential Experience

·Proven experience in leading medium to large scale ICT service and technology transformation programmes to external clients, on time and to agreed budget and quality criteria

·Experienced in managing technology migration projects involving the transition from 'on premise' to cloud based platforms

·Proven experience in managing the delivery of organisational and people change, as required to implement new operating and service delivery models

·Good understanding of outsourced ICT service provision models, including the delivery of remote, on site and cloud based services operations to defined KPI's & SLA's

·Good understanding of common infrastructure technology platforms and their uses, including end user, service desk, networks, server, storage and telephony technologies.

·Experienced in leading and managing the transition of 3rd party ICT suppliers and services

·Good communication and negotiation skills with proven experience of managing senior internal and external stakeholders, up to and including CxO level

·Commercially aware and experienced in the financial management of programme and operational P&L budgets of £5m+

·Solid understanding of programme and project management best practice and governance

·Solid understanding of ITSM principles and best practice standards

·Knowledge and understanding of IT Security best practice principles, including ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials +

·Excellent organisation skills, able to plan the use of people and resources to meet deadlines

·Strong interpersonal skills, to motivate and lead project and operational teams

·The ability to use your initiative and make decisions under pressure

Experience Desirable

·Educated to Degree level in a relevant business or technology discipline

·Relevant ITSM training (ITIL v3 or similar)

·Relevant programme and or project management qualifications (MSP /APM / Prince 2)

·Experience of working with MS Azure and AWS cloud services, IaaS and PaaS technology platforms and application stacks

·Current membership of an appropriate professional programme/project management body

·Knowledge of common service desk and IT monitoring toolsets (Cherwell,

·Experienced in working in or providing services to NHS organisations and environments

·Experienced in leading Windows 10, Office 365 and Azure AD migrations
