Job Shop Recruitment is currently looking to recruit for an Accounts and Payroll Administrator to join an already successful team based in Paignton.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Accounts and Payroll Administrator to join a busy Finance team. The successful applicant will be involved in the continuous development of the accounting function whilst running the payroll for approx. 200 staff. You will be required to have previous experience of working in a similar environment.

Duties will include:

Accounts
  • Agree and post Credit Card Payments
  • Post month end journals as required
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register
  • Various reconciliations and maintaining ledgers
  • Invoicing

Payroll
  • Accurately processing two weekly, (Seasonal) and monthly payrolls, Permanent / Merchandisers/Directors.
  • Reconciliation of deductions and payments, SSP, SMP, SPP , Tax and NI etc
  • Process starters and leavers documents, P45/P46 etc
  • Liaise with HMRC to ensure correct information is supplied within set deadlines.
  • Calculating holiday pay, pension / salary deductions and Reps commission for monthly accounting.

Ideally you will have the following:
  • AAT level 3 minimum
  • A good working knowledge of payroll procedures
  • Confidence in solving all payroll queries in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Conscientious and hardworking attitude with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail whilst prioritising appropriately.
  • Excellent IT skills and an effective communicator.
  • Knowledge of calculating hours from rosters and swipe card entry data.
  • A degree of flexibility regarding working hours
