Accounts Assistant - Purchase Ledger

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

This is a great opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to become part of our clients finance /administrative team.

Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Processing purchase orders which includes obtaining quotes from various supplier to find best price, Raising PO's for signing and sending to supplier and also chasing deliveries from suppliers
  • Matching, checking and coding invoices
  • Coding and Data entry of supplier invoices on Sage software
  • Chasing credit notes from suppliers
  • Filing invoices in purchase in manual ledgers
  • Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details as instructed
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Collation of information for monthly supplier pay out and allocation of payments one approved
  • Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
  • Stock control
  • Goods Inwards
  • Preparation of despatch notes for items leaving the building

About you:
  • Sage 50 Accounts experience
  • Experience of MS Office particularly Excel & Outlook
  • Recent experience in a purchase ledger role
  • Professional, friendly and confident telephone manner
  • A self-motivated organised person who can prioritise their workload in order to work to deadlines. Confidentiality, accuracy and attention to detail is paramount
  • A flexible approach to support a small team and growing company as required
  • Accounts / business related qualification would be an advantage but not essential
