This exciting opportunity to join an award-winning business on a Graduate Secretarial Scheme, will allow the successful candidate to gain industry leading training, and exposure to other areas of the business. Your role is to support the company secretary in the effective servicing of board and committee meetings and in ensuring legal, regulatory and constitutional compliance across the business.

The business are a vibrant, confident and independent award winning housing association with ambitious plans, backed by strong finances and excellent colleagues. Established in 2008 as a stock transfer association, they have added 800 homes to their property portfolio, and are continuing to significantly invest in and improve, their homes and services to customers. They are based in Bracknell and currently have around 220 employees providing services to 7,500 homes.

Description

The successful applicant to the Graduate Secretarial Scheme will:
  • Support the company secretary in the effective servicing of board and committee meetings as required including meeting and agenda planning, agenda preparation, collating and issuing reports, attending meetings, preparing draft minutes, action tracker, maintenance of records of attendance and minutes
  • Support the company secretary in ensuring legal, regulatory and constitutional compliance and ensure that all prescribed statutory records are maintained
  • Support the company secretary in board recruitment and induction; board and committee effectiveness reviews; individual board appraisals; skills audits and training
  • Support the company secretary in the review and monitoring compliance with all governance and business ethics policies and procedures.
  • Support the company secretary in ensuring data protection/GDPR risk is effectively managed.
  • Maintain all relevant statutory and probity registers as required in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist with any year end processes as may be required including supporting the production of the annual report and accounts
  • Provide administrative support to ensure the compliance reporting framework for the association is maintained, evidenced and effective
  • Positively support activities that help promote our new culture and behaviours
