ABOUT US

Our client is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity. They want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help them meet the vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland.

THE ROLE

You'll be managing our long-established citizen science project, the Ancient Tree Inventory, which is responsible for the recording of ancient, veteran and notable trees across the UK. The role involves recruiting, training and managing volunteer data recorders, maintaining the data standards and quality, and communicating and engaging with others in use of the data.

You will manage day to day running of the Ancient Tree Inventory, managing its volunteers, website, communications and data.

THE CANDIDATE

Along with a good understanding of conservation issues, particularly relating to native trees and woods, and of natural history, you'll have excellent organisational and communication skills. You'll be flexible with the ability to manage a diverse workload and work effectively as part of a team.

Ideally you will have knowledge of, or a passion to learn about, wildlife, the environment and citizen science.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

You will be supporting work to protect and enhance woods and trees. In return, they recognise and value their people. You'll have their full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement
