Phenomenal growth is providing them with the opportunity to add key roles to our Client's Finance Team based in Aberdeenshire.

This is a leadership role within the Retail Finance team for a hardworking and ambitious individual. This role will principally be responsible for supervising the UK retail finance team to deliver the management accounts, budgets and forecasts. This role will also be responsible for delivering projects to help to improve processes, efficiency and the control environment.

This is a key role within the finance team, reporting to the Retail Finance Manager, will have significant exposure to the Head of Financial Control and senior management in the retail business. This individual will lead the retail finance team in the UK and will also work closely with the rest of the Finance team.

The role:

This leadership position is responsible for establishing, promoting and proactively enhancing business processes and championing a culture of business excellence as a Co-pilot to the Business Unit Manager.

Completing end to end planning, budgeting and forecasting processes

Preparing and delivering accurate monthly management accounts and insightful analysis pack on a timely basis

Performing detailed analysis on the results vs budget and forecast, and providing information and analysis to inform decision making

Liaising with external auditors and delivering information requested

Provides insight and strongly supports fact-based decision making based on current business environment and specialist financial knowledge, and by challenging new strategies and new projects, as well as the status quo.

Leading the management accounts team to deliver retail packs to individual business units and Area managers and the leadership team

Provides strategic, long-term financial guidance and partners with strategic retail business units and functions to maximise performance throughout the organisation.

Provides leadership by actively coaching and developing team members.

Ensures cross-functional team compliance with internal, external and operational audit requirements.

The individual must be able to effectively interact, collaborate and communicate across multiple functions in the organisation, cooperating and building consensus to drive results.

The position will plan, prioritise and manage workload in an environment of competing priorities where risk must be accurately assessed to support and guide timely and sound business decisions.

Oversees activities related to the monthly financial close, review of financial statements, preparation of monthly division management performance reporting/KPI's/scorecards and meeting corporate financial reporting requirements.

Special Projects: Support finance and management teams with special projects as needed.

The person:

Degree educated (strong academic achievements) and CIMA or ACCA qualified

Highly skilled management accountant with 3+ years PQE, with experience:

Previous experience gained with and FMCG, Retail or Hospitality organisation

Leading, coaching and developing a team

Commercially aware and credible with the ability to influence decision making

Self-starter, able to build strong relationships across the business, including with senior stakeholders

Not afraid to challenge current practices, recommend and implement process and control improvements

Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written

Advanced excel skills required

Experience of using finance systems, preferably SAP

Hard working and ambitious, motivated by working in a fast paced, high growth company

Preferably a professionally qualified Accountant, but may have gained expertise through experience

Strategic thought leadership; a big-picture view while executing functional requirements.

Previous management or supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership ability.

Strong knowledge of management accounting with ability to understand and communicate business drivers

Ideal candidate is results focused, a self-starter, naturally inquisitive, able to think independently and has a desire to make a difference

Strong financial and analytical skills coupled with comprehensive business knowledge; ability to provide meaningful insight, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations

Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams to drive business results; ability to influence business decisions with concrete financial support

Communicate effectively and professionally in written and verbal form, strong presentation skills at executive leadership level

Proven ability to effectively manage people, information and resources effectively in order to meet deadlines and respond to requests in a timely manner

Demonstrated ability to design financial and non-financial measurements and key performance indicators (KPI's) to drive improved business performance
